Peering

DENIC eG operates the following autonomous systems:

AS8763 (DENIC-AS) - registry and DNS services for .DE and partner ccTLDs (incl. K-root server)

AS31529 (DENIC-ANYCAST-AS) - global BGP anycast AS for .DE and the DNS services of other TLDs

DENIC has a generally open peering policy and practices peering at the connected Internet exchanges as listed in the PeeringDB. Peers are required to keep their IRR as well as PeeringDB entries up to date and inform us about any changes made to their network (e.g. prefix limits).

DENIC announces all its prefixes on the IXP route servers. Maintenance and peering degradation will be announced via corresponding mailing lists of the affected IXPs (tech-list). DENIC reserves the right to shut down the peering anytime, in particular for security or operational reasons.

If you would like to peer with DENIC and do not receive our prefixes via IXP route servers, please send a peering request providing the following information:

  • Peering location (IXP)
  • IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
  • ASN and AS-SET
  • Peering contact
  • NOC contact
  • MD5 password (preferred, but not required)
