The general assembly of DENIC eG has elected a new supervisory board on 25 April.

Today numerous domain owners have received a letter from a so-called "Deutsche Domain Verwaltung" (German Domain Registry). In this letter they are instructed to pay DM 369 for an unspecified service of "switching your web address online".

The Dresden court of appeals has also denied that DENIC has a general duty of verification when registering domains

Domain owners in Germany do not have to worry about their address data being sold to marketing companies or address publishers.

The interest in domain names with the suffix .de remains on a high level. The number of domains registered with the central German registry DENIC will exceed four million on Tuesday.
