The interest in domain names with the suffix .de remains on a high level. The number of domains registered with the central German registry DENIC will exceed four million on Tuesday. During the last twelve months the number of domains has increased by more than 140%. On the average every 15 seconds a new domain name is registered. About one fifth of all domains are held by companies, the other 80% are largely owned by private persons.
