16 November 2010: Effective 16 November, the letter eszett will officially be included in the set of characters permitted for .de domains
The German alphabet in the internet is now complete with eszett: Since the 16th of November 2010 the LATIN SMALL LETTER SHARP S (ß) is allowed as an independent character in .de domain names.

3 November 2010: Amendments to the new public-whois becoming effective on 3 November 2010
Effective 3 November 2010, we will use an updated version of the recently revised public-whois on our website. Compared to the original new version, two minor changes have been made. With the amendments, DENIC responds to the feedback from the community.

21 September 2010: Rollout of New public-whois Completed
After successful conclusion of the test phase, the thoroughly revised DENIC information service public-whois was made available in the production environment on 21 September 2010. Not only does the new whois have a novel architecture, it also includes various functional improvements.
