Amendments to the new public-whois becoming effective on 3 November 2010

Following substantial consolidation, a new version of the DENIC information service public-whois was launched in the production environment on 21 September.

Effective 3 November 2010, we will make available a newly updated version of the revised public-whois. Compared to the original new version, two minor changes have been made:

On the one hand, the full stop after the host name will no longer be output for the DNS designations (name server and NSEntry), if Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDN) are queried.

On the other hand, the wording of the error message output if the permitted access control limit is exceeded will change: The current error message "55000000002 Connection refused; access control limit reached" will be replaced by "55000000002 Connection refused; access control limit exceeded".

With these amendments, DENIC responds to the feedback from the community.
