The "Foris" case now wound up by the Naumburg court of appeals

Since the end of June 2000 the data of domains that end in .de can only be retrieved via the German registry DENIC.

Internet users registering a domain will do so in future in accordance with terms and conditions that show more clearly than in the past who the parties to the contract are. That has been decided by the general assembly of the DENIC cooperative at its most recent meeting in Frankfurt am Main.

The number of domains with the suffix ".de" continues to double every six months. On 3 April 2000, DENIC eG in Frankfurt registered domain #2,000,000.
