DENIC Fosters the Advancement of Agile Methods and Practices at Work
Scrum, Kanban and co. have long become an integral part of the daily work routine at DENIC. These working methodologies center around self-organised development teams and enable them to follow a well-structured, but also highly flexible development process. DENIC wants to further enhance agile working methodologies and their practical application and thus has decided to sponsor three conferences dealing with the topic this year.
Being organised as a cooperative, it is part of DENIC's mission to serve the public interest and collectively create added value. Beyond the form of the organisation, this materialises in an international commitment to a free and open Internet as well as in the use of collaborative working methods.
Since 2010, DENIC has been using Kanban and Scrum and trusting in these agile working methodologies to achieve continuous development and optimisation. More than 16.1 million domains under management, about 40 K calls for domains per second and 26 million people using the DENIC information services every day are substantial proof of our performance both in technical and organisational matters.
In addition to the sponsorship, DENIC will share this year the experiences it has made with the agile approaches with the agile community at three events:
- At the tenth Scrum Day on 30 and 31 May 2017 in Filderstadt, Germany, a communication platform for discussing agility in practice. In 2017, the conference will not only deal with Scrum but also focus on agile organisation development, strategy and management.
- At the PM Camp Rhein-Main on 22 to 24 June 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany. This event is a mixture of BarCamp and OpenSpace, at which project workers in the widest sense come together to discuss project issues on a regional level.
- At the Continuous Lifecycle Conference, which looks into the most vital methods, concepts and tools related to Continuous Delivery and DevOps. The IT conference, which is hosted by specialised media of the trade, like heise developer and IX, takes place in Mannheim, Germany, from 14 to 17 November 2017.
