DENIC eG and Sabine Dolderer Terminate Cooperation
Sabine Dolderer, member of the Executive Board of DENIC eG, and DENIC’s Supervisory Board have reached an amicable agreement to terminate their work with one another with immediate effect. The background to this step lies in differing views as to how DENIC ought to continue to develop in future. The Supervisory Board expressess thanks to Sabine Dolderer for the outstanding work she has contributed in the course of recent years.
Sabine Dolderer has been involved with DENIC since 1994. After obtaining her computer-science degree, she worked in the computer centre of Karlsruhe University from 1990 to 1997 as a member of the scientific staff with responsibility for central communication services, such as mail, news and Internet access. Starting in 1994, she took on the additional task of looking after the "DENIC" project, which had been commissioned by the German Internet service providers and for which Karlsruhe University provided the technical implementation from 1994 to 1999 with third-party funding. She was thus crucially involved in the setting up and further development of the administration of domains under the Top Level Domain .de from the very beginning. Since DENIC was set up as a registered cooperative in 1997, Sabine Dolderer has been at the head of the business operation and the technical services of the domain registry in Frankfurt am Main – up until 2001 as general manager and since then as a full-time member of the Executive Board. Her responsibilities have included the external representation of DENIC as well as operations and services to members and final customers.
Sabine Dolderer’s experience in the field of domain administration is greatly valued outside of Germany too. She has been actively involved in the work of numerous international bodies and at times has also occupied top positions with them, such as at CENTR.
