An internal report about the launch of the registration procedure for the new .de domains that was designed as an information paper for DENIC members only, was anonymously published. To enable the readers to assess the - partly very technical - aspects addressed in that document correctly on a factual basis, DENIC has compiled a few brief explanations below. Despite some problems when operated under full load, the highly complex registration procedure was implemented as planned. All in all the launch was successful, as many DENIC members confirmed.
