System / Platform Engineer (f/m/d)
As a vital cornerstone of the critical infrastructure of the internet, stability, security and permanent availability are not only buzzwords for us but the basis of our daily work.
You are well familiar with system and infrastructure management, and have already gained some experience with operating Kubernetes clusters? Then come aboard! As an experienced system engineer (m/f/d), you will become part of our team and be responsible for the further development and operation of our internal infrastructure platform.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of our team you will not only manage the Kubernetes cluster but will also be responsible for the related services (logging, monitoring, etc.) that are required by the DENIC teams to safely run their applications on the Linux-based platform.
You are committed to automating tasks wherever possible in this context and have experience with designing and operating tailored system architectures.
Utmost information security, maximum availability and solving complex tasks are the challenges for you to face.
YOUR TASKS:
- Operation and further development of our internal infrastructure platform and related services (Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, SSO, etc.)
- Automation of processes and setting up CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI)
- Supporting the specialist teams in using the platform
- Full-stack development and operation
Qualifications:
Whether you have a university degree in computer science, have completed a specialised IT training program or have acquired your expertise through professional experience, the following aspects are particularly important to us:
- Experience: You have at least five years of experience on the job
- Skills:
- Solid knowledge of Linux administration
- Experience with the use and operation of Kubernetes clusters
- Good basic technical knowledge of the complete technology stack: containers, virtualisation (VMware), logging, monitoring, networks, storage, etc.
- A good command of at least one programming or script language (preferably Golang and Bash)
- Language skills: good command of German and English, both spoken and written
- Personal qualities: committed, team player, able to work independently
- Approach to work: service-oriented, quick thinking, solution-oriented mindset
- Nice to have: a basic knowledge of agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban)
